Marty Blue is an accomplished Board and Executive Team member with significant leadership experience in technology, automotive, marketplaces, and start-ups. She has a demonstrated history of success in the digital sector and significant operational experience. Her functional expertise is in business development, licensing, B2B marketing, product development and industry relations. Marty is currently an Independent board member (and Compensation Committee Chair) at Openbay which is simplifying automotive repair and service. She is also an Independent board member at Recurrent which analyzes Electric Vehicle’s battery health. Marty is a Senior Advisor at Boston Consulting Group where she is working with OEMs on their go-to-market strategies and she is an Entrepreneur-in-Residence at Harvard Business School.

From March 2011 – June 2019 Marty was engaged as an SVP of Business Development at CarGurus. CarGurus is the largest Automotive Digital Marketplace in the United States based on unique monthly visitors. At CarGurus she was an integral part of the management team reporting to the CEO and COO and helping to usher the company through a successful IPO in October 2017. While at CarGurus the company grew from 14 to 700+ employees with a market cap in excess of $4 billion. In addition to leading Business Development, Marty also launched the Sales, B2B Marketing, Product, and Industry Relations functions.

Prior to CarGurus, Marty spent 16 years in licensing at Reebok International predominantly as a licensor. She worked across a number of different brands (eg. Reebok, Weebok, Rockport, Greg Norman golf, and Boston Whaler) and product categories including kids footwear & apparel, sporting goods equipment and fitness equipment. As a licensee she helped guide Reebok’s licensing negotiations with the NFL and NBA. At Reebok she grew her skills in industry analysis, partner due diligence, contract negotiations, product development, marketing, distribution, and revenue growth.

Most recently she joined the Board of Directors at Good Sports which gives kids the lifelong benefits of sport and physical activities by providing equipment, apparel, and footwear to those most in need. She is also Chair of the Advisory Council at the Women’s Foundation of Boston which works to economically empower women and girls in Greater Boston.

Marty holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Government from Harvard University and has a Masters in Business Administration from the Tuck School at Dartmouth College. She has three daughters and resides with her husband in Carlisle, MA and Laguna Beach, CA.
